This coming summer marks the 40th anniversary of the death of Elvis in 1977. Graceland (Elvis’ home) in Memphis is doing a number of things to celebrate the anniversary. They have just completed a 450 room full-service hotel called The Guest House at Graceland, with two restaurants and a 464-seat theater. Also a $45 million entertainment complex is opening soon, incorporated into the already popular tours that have been operating for years. Jack and I were there last year in October and the weather was beautiful. Both Nashville and Atlanta are a short drive from Memphis. Since Elvis was a big part of our high school years we thought it might be a nice way to revive our teen memories, together as a class. Any and all comments are welcome. But Elvis haters… be nice!
